Since the very first post published here (29.08.2016), The Plum Girl Perfume Site celebrates perfume as an art form! Unique and in-depth reviews, news from the Industry, reports from Esxence Milan, Pitti Fragranze, travelogues with information about perfume shops, interviews, and all the other content regarding niche/artisan perfume and people of perfume – researched, written, edited, and shared to readers of this site over the past six years.
And yes – I’m still madly in love with perfume!
So, you’re a perfume lover. That does impress me much, so am I! As one, you must’ve heard a lot of Frequently Asked Questions regarding your perfume love, hobby, passion, its financial consequences, your taste…and some strong opinions, mostly unrequested. Let’s talk about perfume myths!
Less than three weeks to Esxence–The Scent of Excellence in Milan! So much to do: breathe, Elena, breathe…(and don’t forget to pack a pair of sneakers). Spring has sprung and so have many new perfumes! Let me tell you more about these new fragrances & more:
“So, what exactly are you writing about?” a friend asked me directly. “With so many great perfumes coming up in a year, what’s all that niche buzz?” And more: “If my sales lady at the XY store knows all about the newest perfumes, why would I need you?” and “Niche fragrances? That sounds so snobbish to me!”
I outed myself. I am a perfume addict.
To be precise, I am a niche perfume addict. Not a hoarder of bottles, mind you. I collect olfactory experiences.
Lemon: what an instant reminder of the summer holidays!
Just one sniff brings back memories of the hot noon sun, green leaves hiding waxy white dainty flowers, unopened ones slightly pink at the top, and suddenly… it’s summertime, and the living is easy.
Lemons are ripe, fragrant, and bright yellow. The ones you see are picked from a tree in my garden, homegrown and untreated. And do they smell! Love this lemon scented life!
