Just a week ago I was making many thousands of steps a day during my first encounter with Beautyworld Middle East 2023 in Dubai. My eyes (and nostrils) were wide open, impressed, shocked, and amazed: the largest show in the region is still intensely on my mind. Let me take you on a tour of the fair, and share my impressions!
Al Sahra. Sahara. It was very brave indeed for The Different Company to name a fragrance after Her (I always refer to deserts in the feminine gender, just look at the lush curves of dunes), ancient and mighty, soft as smooth sand of its endless dunes and harsh as suffocating winds that rage above its surface. Here is my review of Al Sahra, first published in Cafleurebon.
I wrote a post on Instagram recently saying that I’m opening my web for niche/indie/artisan perfume brands during the current pandemic in order to help them spread the news about their offers and/or new releases. This is our first #sprayitforward Newsletter No.1: do share, please!
“So, what exactly are you writing about?” a friend asked me directly. “With so many great perfumes coming up in a year, what’s all that niche buzz?” And more: “If my sales lady at the XY store knows all about the newest perfumes, why would I need you?” and “Niche fragrances? That sounds so snobbish to me!”
