Pitti Fragranze 2019

Browsing

For the 21st time, Pitti Fragranze 2023 showcases a selection of small, niche, and artisan perfume brands at Stazione Leopolda in Florence. Many new brands were exhibiting, some just a couple of months active, and the season of new launches rolled out in full bloom under the blue Tuscan sky. Pitti always gives you enough time and space to explore brands and perfumes with ease. And Florence…Florence is always The Most Beautiful!

Il Profumo, IllustratedMassimo‘s name has already become synonymous with perfume illustrations: you might have seen his work for perfume brands or noticed his drawings of dainty Lilly of The Valley flowers, roses, or blooming tuberoses. He has successfully combined two of his passions, two art forms, one enhancing the other and vice versa.

The new cover for The Plum Girl website is also created by Massimo Alfaioli, a change made to celebrate the 5th anniversary of the blog!

He kindly accepted my invitation to answer some questions about his work and passions, and I’m very happy to bring you this interview!

The Black Knight by Francesca Bianchi greets you with the power of a fully equipped, light, and swift battle horse in a full gallop through a fresh and green field of vetiver: its muscles are moving in a tense way, hoofs picking up and throwing pieces of dry earth in the air behind it.

And yet, there is hidden tenderness and fragility that makes him feel – so human.

My review of The Black Knight perfume was first published in Cafleurebon, and this is the version I edited in 2021.
