Testing, wearing, and enjoying my #sotn tremendous Testing, wearing, and enjoying my #sotn tremendously: it just arrived today, Germaine Green, limited edition extrait de parfem by @miguelmatosperfumes 💚 The original Germaine, a tribute to Germaine Cellier - revamped! A foupre or chygere, playing between chypre and fougere, with an aromatic nod to perfumes of the past, and so full of pulsing life. 💚 It is powerful, it is bold, and it is potent, opening with a blast of steady green herbal and spicy freshness. All shades of green are filling your lungs, expanding your rib cage and evolving over waterfalls of bittersweet herbal layers to the point of a budding violets accord. It is so empowering! Germaine then changes its direction and sways closer to dry earth, gaining a woody-earthy texture. Yes, of course, there’s leather too, and a grand leather it is, mixing with violet-colored smoothness. I don’t know why but it feels like this leather came from another era...it’s green and dry, raw and refined, feeling soft but also alive and breathing at the same time. 💚 It’s strong like you might expect it to be, but I couldn’t resist spraying once more after the initial spritz, just for the sheer joy and beauty of it’s opening. Not only do I smell great, it seems like everything I touch turns into...Germaine. And that feels grand! 💚 I love these moments when I feel insatiable hunger for a perfume, impatience and curiosity. When it occupies all my thoughts, elicits emotions, and takes me places. Germaine does all that. 💚 Germaine Green is a very limited edition fragrance, released in 2020. Additions to the original formula are lime, pine, cypress, and wintergreen. Only a few (new) bottles are left, and I was informed that it’ll be discontinued, because Miguel is working on something completely new and different. Its pollen-like floral buzz with a heap of fluffy yellow pompoms and white petals draws me in like a hungry bee: all I want is to stay as long as possible inside of my little fragrant cloud of happiness! 💛 It reminds of festivities on St.Blaises’ day in Dubrovnik on 4 Frebruary, when the city is filled with scent of mimosas and almonds blooming while the rest of Europe is still under ice and snow. #sotd Moonlight in Chiangmai @parfumsdusita ✨ T #sotd Moonlight in Chiangmai @parfumsdusita ✨ Tender is the Moonlight.. Shining light upon dreams of what once was, tainted with longing spun over long nights in isolation. ✨ Pissara’s special teak-wood accord is at the centre of Moonlight in Chiangmai, felt from the very beginning. It starts out very dry and powdery-soft, and the image of woods it paints is abstract, but in a very calming way. Elegant layers of nutmeg follow, blending seamlessly with yuzu, adding a juicier feel as the fragrance develops further. On my second wearing I noticed jasmine floating between the branches of these woods like mist, very breezy-light and quite green, adding soft illumination to the composition. Dryness of woods in the base is smoothed around the edges by gentle touches of smoke, and leathery facets that feel aged. The vetiver used gave me an impression of amber and pipe tobacco further in the dry-down, a lovely undercurrent that adds depth and golden hues of refinement to all the woody-browns.
