A chemist, an artist, a Master perfumer: Ralf Schwieger.  Blending finely contrasts of precise and measurable -chemistry, and somewhat messy and unpredictable – art, expressing himself in a unique, his way, making perfumes with a personality.

An Original. Chiseling raw materials into perfumes that are works of art, with precision and grace: the sculptor of scents.

Il Profumo, IllustratedMassimo‘s name has already become synonymous with perfume illustrations: you might have seen his work for perfume brands or noticed his drawings of dainty Lilly of The Valley flowers, roses, or blooming tuberoses. He has successfully combined two of his passions, two art forms, one enhancing the other and vice versa.

The new cover for The Plum Girl website is also created by Massimo Alfaioli, a change made to celebrate the 5th anniversary of the blog!

He kindly accepted my invitation to answer some questions about his work and passions, and I’m very happy to bring you this interview!

The Plum Girl Interview- Adventures of a curious nose, or Avventure di un naso curioso: some time ago a dear friend of The Plum Girl, Andrej Babicky asked me to chit-chat with him about perfume ‘n’ stuff. Instead of a podcast, we agreed upon an interview in a written form for the Beauty Scenario webzine.

We discussed perfume/fragrance, perfume reviews, the importance of perfume reviews, and quite a few other scent-related things!

Le Jardin Retrouve has published many interviews with perfumers, perfume lovers, writers, and bloggers in a series named Fragrance Lovers. I’m proud that The Plum Girl blog was featured on their site and grateful to Clara Feder and the whole Le Jardin Retrouve team for the first live Salon I took part in, and the transcript published in LJR Fragrance Lovers posts.
