Welcome to my Pitti Florence 2019- Part II report&highlights!
While enjoying perfumes and fine Tuscan cuisine&vine, I noticed that quite a few perfume houses were inspired by scents, tastes, and heritage of the Mediterranean basin, an endless source of inspiration.
One of the greatest perfumers in the world, a Master Perfumer. Jean-Claude Ellena.
Through his work, he’s been a part of my life for years now! On my skin. Not surprising when you think about all the perfumes Jean-Claude Ellena signs!
I also love him maybe because I’m sentimental about his path in perfumery, maybe because times are a-changing. His way is the “old French school”, the classical way.
Shall there be stories like his in the future?
“What do you think about it?” – he asked, softly.

There is a new wind blowing, bringing changes: Acampora Profumi shall launch at Pitti Fragrance 2019 nine new perfumes in two new collections and a trip through time!
I set out to explore an artisan perfume brand – Hendley Perfumes, starting with a discovery kit with samples of Amora (2016), Blond (2018), Bourbon (2015), Fume (2015), Mown (2017), Narcis (2019 Laboratory Series release), Untitled (2019), Bloodline (created for American Perfumer in 2019, limited edition, sold out), and a 9ml travel spray of Rosenthal (2015). Little did I know how smitten they all shall leave me…
This happens often. I pull out a perfumes sample pack, start testing one by one, taking notes for “drafts&quick sniffs“, and usually the one from which I expect the most, or the one I’m uncertain of mentioning at all -is the last one to be worn and tested extensively on my skin. Unutamam surprised me.
