Ever since I first heard the news about a new addition to the Francesca Bianchi‘s line of perfume, I had itchy fingers, impatient to try her most recent creation. And no wonder, since months felt like years at the time we all lost count of days in a week, and everything stopped almost overnight during March.
Sticky Fingers is available since late June, and now we’re talking!
Better said – rocking that patchouli, and here comes my complete review!
Impermanence by Christèle Jacquemin, a perfumer, photographer, and traveler is an Art&Olfaction Awards 2020 (Artisan Category) Finalist. This is a new niche perfume brand that launched in 2019 with three fragrances in brand’s portfolio: Underworld, Meandering Soul, and Impermanence – reviewed here, plus a short interview with Christèle!
„It was like nobody ever saw me. Even I didn’t know if I really existed. – The Joker
Joker, the most recent film (2019), together with Zeitgeist of 2020 inspired the creation of Le Joker perfume by Art de Parfum. This dark, disturbing story about a supervillain that first appeared in the debut issue of the comic book Batman in 1940, elicits a whole mix of feelings such as deep disgust, unexpected sorrow, and strange pleasure. It’s not about whether you might „like“ this movie or not, the fact is that it makes you FEEL a whole array of different emotions. Isn’t that what all art is about, after all? Perfume should do the same.
Der Duft is a new perfume brand, launched recently with two fragrances: Grasse by Anselm Skogstad, perfumer and owner of the brand, and Pride by Miguel Matos.
Die Perfums: what matters is inside the bottle, with a minimalistic approach to packaging and presentation. Simple, clear, and straight to the point.
Hello, Summer 2020!
Although there’s no fragrance law that says you should immediately rotate bottles in your perfume collection after the Summer Solstice, you might start reaching out for a different selection of your summer fragrances as soon as temperatures rise.
I love summer, and to celebrate its beginning here are my reviews of 2 unique summer fragrances: one dates back to 2013 – and the other one is going to be released really soon.
Both could be called Aquatic-oceanic/marine scents, yet both are so much more than just that!
Bonus: you can wear them all year round! Everything is different this year anyway…
Jasmine IS the cornerstone of perfumery! A perfectly unisex note, present in an impressive percentage in so many perfumes, for so many years. It’s always been talked about among perfume lovers: Le Fleur, The Flower is always discussed.
A source of inspiration or a challenge to excel for many a perfumer, used since forever in fragrances in so many different ways.
I have smelled many a different jasmine, in many a fragrance. And then, after a long time and all the finest (or less so) interpretations, I came upon one that made me stop right in my tracks: Fado Jasmim by Miguel Matos Perfumes.
What has jasmine to do with Fado? Everything.
