To everything, there’s a season: autumn suits patchouli and spices well, and Patchouli & Black Pepper is a lovely perfume that I wore and tested since spring but enjoyed the most this November – it definitely shines, blossoms, and expresses its personality fully in colder weather! Created by Ruth Mastenbroek, and praised as the Bath House bestseller, it definitely breathes in synergy with autumn. And there’s an almost empty bottle to prove it.
“…If I had them, I’d be King”.
But it’s the juicy green balls of desire – figs! that we’re talking about here!
Balls Said the Queen by Dawn Spencer Hurwitz of DSH Perfumes is not a beach-y or tropical fragrance at all, and yet it feels lush like a late summer’s day, like the moment when you realize that the summer is almost gone and each and every minute of a hot day suddenly feels like a precious gift you don’t want to let go of. It’s not gourmand either, and yet it is mouthwatering and inviting. You might call it „green“ but that’s a hot hue of green, like a green leaf placed over strategic places on a naked body. And even though it feels openly sensual, its balance is refined.
Dawn thinks it’s „kinda badass.“, and I think it’s a fragrance that’s wonderfully sensual in a very playful way.
Times, they are a-changing. People – not that much: this is why the myth about Echo and Narcisuss is always inspiring, and what I was thinking about while sampling and testing Aroma Echo and Narciso from DFG1924, and getting more and more attracted to it. I tested it during the hot summer months but came to enjoy it fully during the first cold, Autumn days. Its notes and accords then started to bloom beautifully on my skin, unfolding a layer upon layer of fragrance with a deep, amber-infused tremolo in its base.
The bright voice of Echo at the beginning and the hypnotical beauty of Narcisuss to follow…to the end.
Blanc. White: rarely is the color of white – what is considered pure white, and characterized by red, green, and blue codes that are exactly equal, thus marked with Hex triplet #FFFFFF. If you ask interior designers, they all agree that there are so many variations of white, and only reading the names of different “whites” is fun.
Even if you are dealing with pure white, it’s an illusion. White is a perception we have when our eyes are confronted with all visible wavelengths of light! All colors of the rainbow united give white, but all materials that scatter light in every direction also appear white.
Blanc Polychrome by Atelier Des Ors is an array of bright colors that swirl around joyfully before uniting to form a glowing beam of light.
Ever since I first heard the news about a new addition to the Francesca Bianchi‘s line of perfume, I had itchy fingers, impatient to try her most recent creation. And no wonder, since months felt like years at the time we all lost count of days in a week, and everything stopped almost overnight during March.
Sticky Fingers is available since late June, and now we’re talking!
Better said – rocking that patchouli, and here comes my complete review!
