April 20, 2021: The Perfumed Plume Awards for Fragrance Journalism has announced finalists in six categories, and The Plum Girl is a 2x finalist in the category PERFUME STORIES IN MAINSTREAM MEDIA – DIGITAL!

The founders, Ms. Lapsansky and Ms.  Leigh applauded each and every finalist, all the writers that submitted their work, and thanked the judging committee saying that they are still hopeful that the winners shall be celebrated in person this year.

The 2021 finalists were determined by the highest percentage scores received based on the criteria for each category, and here is the complete list!

“We look forward to celebrating the winners this year, whether virtually or in person, and we are happy to kick off the award festivities by announcing the finalists.” – Perfumed Plume award Co-Founders Lyn Leigh and Mary Ellen Lapsansky.

The criteria for award categories are published here, and you can also read the judging committee members’ bio here.

I would like to thank The Perfumed Plume founders, all members of the judging committee, and congratulate all the finalists! I’m thrilled to be in such a company.

Humbled and proud at the same time to receive such recognition. Each of my reviews is so time-consuming, as I tend to go in-depth. I take it slow, give perfume time and respect, it takes thinking, testing, wearing, researching, asking questions, testing again, sketching, writing, editing, taking photos, editing again, publishing, sharing, loving.

It was even harder to enter the flow of inspiration in 2021 for me, mostly due to Covid19 + a hefty dose of earthquakes state of mind, but Perfume Writing Muses were kind to me.  It’s a labor of love and passion. Love for perfume, to be shared with you passionately. Special thanks to Filippo and Miguel, they inspire me continuously.

“The Perfumed Plume Awards™ for Fragrance Journalism, now in its 6th year, is an independent recognition of creative storytelling that engages and educates the consumer on the art and craft of fragrance. It celebrates stories that give the reader an inside view of the cultural, historical, and personal approaches to fragrance design and what it takes to create an evocative scent. Stories that illuminate why some fragrances can instantly evoke memories of a person, time, or place.

The Perfumed Plume Awards™ specifically targets the many talented writers and visualists who bring to life the craft, the inspiration, the emotion, and the sensory journey that are at the heart of fragrance creation, quickly becoming an annual, iconic symbol of media excellence that will positively impact the fragrance category. The Awards provide a new way to create a broader awareness & appreciation for fragrance through high quality, informative, enlightening, and of course entertaining storytelling.”
